The Lion of Judah — A Song of Promise and Praise
🌅 Inspiration
This song was inspired by the timeless prophecies of Scripture — words that have echoed since the dawn of creation. From Genesis 49:9–10 to Isaiah 9:6–7 and beyond, the Bible foretold a righteous ruler, a King from Judah, who would bring peace that never ends.
When I began creating The Lion of Judah, I wanted to capture that moment of awakening — the rise of hope, the return of majesty, and the renewal of faith. The song begins with the sound of gentle African percussion and rhythmic Zulu chanting — an echo of the continent’s vibrant spirit, its sweeping landscapes, and the living heartbeat of its wildlife. These natural rhythms seemed the perfect way to symbolize the nations recognizing the reign of God’s appointed King.
What follows is a journey — from the ancient promise to the everlasting Kingdom — blending languages, cultures, and tones in one uplifting anthem of worship and joy.
✨ English Lyrics
[Verse 1]
From the dawn of time His promise shone,
The scrolls foretold, the prophets cried,
And heaven’s truth was magnified—
Jehovah’s King on Zion’s throne.
[Chorus]
Behold the Lion—His rule brings light!
Through storm and shadow, His reign takes flight.
He reigns forever—Jehovah’s delight!
Through storm and shadow,
His Kingdom Song will never cease.
[Verse 2]
Upon His shoulder rests the crown,
Peace and justice ripple down.
No end to love, no end to peace,
His kingdom’s song will never cease.
[Outro]
Praise God in the heights above…
Praise God in the heights above…
Praise God in the heights above…
He’s God in the heights…
