Revelation

Revelation – It’s Grand Climax at Hand!: This wonderful red-backed book was released by the Society of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1988 and over the next decade we must have repeated a study of it about three times.  Each time more and more refinements to the original version were given.  But – WOW – what a book!  It drilled down into such deep prophecies like end of times; the four horsemen of the apocalypse; 7 trumpet blasts; 7 bowls of anger…  It was a wonderful, deep, meaty study.

So this was one of the books we studied on a Tuesday night.  Our particular group of 20 or so brothers and sisters met at the back of the Kingdom Hall and we arranged our plastic chairs into a circle and began the meeting. After reading each paragraph, the book study conductor asked the assigned question(s) and then called on individuals who had raised their hands to provide answers based on the material just read. As an almost young teen studying this deep material, at first I found it hard to answer up…  Then one brother, who I will call Brother S and whose son eventually went to work at Bethel gave me an important tip. ‘The more you put in – the more you will get out.’  I found this to be so true!  The more I studied, the more I understood…  The more gems I found – the more I wanted to study/dig up more riches and so on…  I began to love deep bible research…

Often, I would study from the provided material and accompany that by also studying from the burgundy colored Concordance, the two green Insight volumes, and the navy-colored All Scripture Inspired book – all essential to gaining a full understanding of the material.  Nowadays, everything is so much easier – with a click of a button people have the entire library of the Watchtower bible and tract society at their fingertips on their computer from https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/h/r1/lp-e.  They don’t have to lug all their books onto their table to do a proper study.  I really hope people make full use of this… These are truly rich spiritual times we live in!
