Cry for the Garden
This song retells one of the most important moments in human history —
the day humanity lost its home.
Human History
In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve lived in perfection.
No pain. No death. No fear.
Just peace, purpose, and a direct relationship with Jehovah God.
(Ecclesiastes 3:11)
In this paradise garden, Jehovah provided every good thing — countless trees filled with beautiful, nourishing fruit. But He placed one loving boundary: the tree of the knowledge of good and bad.
The message was simple and protective:
“I am the Guardian of knowledge. Over time, gradually as you mature, you will receive wisdom — even how to invent and build — without harming yourselves, others, or the earth. Until then, trust Me. Respect the boundary.”
Unfortunately, as the Scriptures relate, Eve — and then Adam — took the fruit in direct disobedience to this command. By reaching for knowledge without guidance, they triggered a chain reaction:
- their bodies began to degrade (sin)
- their children inherited imperfection
- humankind became an independent race that “dominates man to his injury.” (Ecclesiastes 8:9)
That single act opened the door to suffering, decay, violence, pollution, sickness, and eventually death — not just for themselves, but for every generation after them.
The Reason for Human Suffering
“Through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin,
and so death spread to all men because they had all sinned.”
— Romans 5:12
That moment broke the world.
It broke the human heart.
It broke the intimate connection we once had with the One who made us.
Cry for the Garden captures that loss — the ache of a paradise abandoned and the deep longing every human carries for the peace we were created to enjoy.
The Solution: A Ransom Great Enough to Heal the World
Jehovah provided what Adam never could — a perfect, obedient human life offered in place of the one that was lost.
“For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son,
so that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life.”
— John 3:16
Through Jesus’ ransom sacrifice:
✔ sins can be forgiven
✔ the dead will rise
✔ suffering will end
✔ and the world will return to the peace Jehovah intended
(John 5:28–29 • 1 Corinthians 15:22 • Revelation 21:3–4)
The ransom is the key — the path back to life, hope, and restored relationship.
Very Soon: The Restoration of the Garden
Jesus now rules as King of God’s Kingdom in the heavens — a real government that will soon extend its rulership to the earth to remove suffering, injustice, and death itself.
“For a child has been born to us…
and the princely rule will be upon his shoulder.
His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
To the increase of his government and to peace there will be no end.”
— Isaiah 9:6–7
Under his Kingdom rule, everything Adam destroyed will be undone.
The earth will blossom again.
Peace will return.
Humankind will finally come home.
“The righteous will possess the earth,
and they will live forever on it.”
— Psalm 37:29

Lyrics
You were the first,
You were the summit,
I placed you gently there in Eden’s paradise.
You had perfection,
Every joy you once desired —
But you didn’t value the gifts before your eyes.
You were my crown,
Glory of creation,
But you didn’t guard the one command I gave you, no.
So you took a chance,
Reached out your hand,
And I bet you didn’t think it all would come crashing down, no.
You don’t have to say – what you did,
I already know — I saw it with him.
Now there’s just no chance for you and Me,
There’ll never be,
And doesn’t it make you ache about it?
You said you loved Me,
Why did you disobey?
Now you say you miss Me,
When you feel the world turn cold.
Child, I refuse,
You must have me confused —
My words were in your mind.
The bridges were burned,
My flaming sword turns,
So cry.
Cry for the garden (Lost paradise)
Cry for the garden (And you will die)
Cry for the garden (Lost paradise)
Cry for the garden (And you will die)
Now they all say
That some things are better left unsaid.
But you remember every word I spoke — and you know it.
(Don’t act like you don’t know it.)
All of the lies he whispered
Keep messing with your head,
(Messing with your head.)
Should’ve held truth instead,
Then you may not have lost it.
You don’t have to say – just what you did,
I already know — I saw it with him.
Now there’s just no chance (no chance) for you and Me,
And doesn’t it make you ache about it?
You said you loved Me,
Why did you walk away from home?
Now you say you miss Me
When the thorns and sweat have grown.
Child, I refuse,
You must have me confused —
My words were in your mind.
The bridges were burned,
My flaming sword turns,
So cry.
Cry for the garden (Lost paradise)
Cry for the garden (And you will die)
Cry for the garden (Lost paradise)
Cry for the garden (And you will die)
Cry for the garden (Lost paradise)
Cry for the garden (And you will die)
Cry for the garden (Lost paradise)
Cry for the garden (And you will die-)
The damage is done,
So I guess you’ll be leaving.
The damage is done,
So I guess you’ll be leaving.
The damage is done,
So I guess you’ll be leaving.
The damage is done,
So I guess you’ll be leaving.
You don’t have to say – what you did,
I already know – I saw it with him.
Now there’s just no chance (no chance) for you and Me,
And doesn’t it make you ache about it?
Cry for the garden (Lost paradise)
Cry for the garden (And you will die)
Cry for the garden (Lost paradise)
Cry for the garden (And you will die)
Cry for the garden (Lost paradise)
Cry for the garden (And you will die)
Cry for the garden (Lost paradise)
Cry for the garden (And you will..)
Cry for the garden (Child, go on and just)
Cry for the garden (And you will die)
Cry for the garden (‘Cause Eden’s closed now)
Cry for the garden (And you will die)
